KAWS, alias of his creator Brian Donnelly is a graffiti artist who has bridged the worlds of art, popular culture, and commerce. Note the inclusion of mini spray cans near the artwork border as a nod to Donnelly.
The Kaw's Mickey Mouse-like character, Companion, is surrounded by many Pop culture cartoons Kaws has appropriated in his artwork. Each has his signature X-ed eyes and hands. Universal emotions, such as love, friendship and friendship are a constant presence in his work.
