The Obelisk is a roundabout art feature along the Florida Heritage Trail. The gateway sculpture pays homage to the Florida Highwaymen, a group of skilled African American landscape painters who sold their work along Southern highways.

There are four different carved ceramic insets on all four sides of the base.
